Three students from Gwinnett County Public Schools Have been selected for the 2024-2025 Teen Team at the High Museum of Art.

The museum’s Teen Team invites 15 rising high school juniors and seniors to take part in an eight week summer intensive program, followed by monthly meetings throughout the school year.

Ivan Thomas of Collins Hill High School, Sharika Awasthi of Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology and Milena Woldai of Peachtree Ridge High School were all chosen to participate in the program.

While working on the team, students will have access to behind-the-scenes areas of the museum, contribute to planning public events and gain experience in careers within the art industry.

“This kind of opportunity helps students connect with their community in meaningful ways while developing valuable skills,”  GCPS Director of Fine Arts David DuBose said in a release. “Programs like the Teen Team are crucial in fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts and promoting the importance of arts education.”
