Pennon shares record investment plans with customers at Plymouth’s state-of-the-art treatment site

Pennon Group recently hosted its latest customer engagement meeting at Plymouth’s state-of-the-art water treatment works to hear customers’ thoughts and discuss the company’s record investment plans.

The WaterShare+ session was the latest instalment of the quarterly events the company stages across the Greater South West. Each meeting is designed to provide customers with the chance to voice their thoughts on how the company and its water businesses – South West Water, Bournemouth Water and Bristol Water – are run.

Pennon’s unique WaterShare+ scheme offers its customers a stake in the business so they can share in the company’s performance. Nearly 100,000 shares have been issued, with one in 14 customers currently shareholders, and plans to make that one in ten by 2030.

Members of the Pennon leadership team, including CEO, Susan Davy, and Managing Director for Water Services, David Harris, gave updates to customers about the Plymouth area and region-wide investment plans for the future.

Susan Davy, Chief Executive Officer, said:

“It’s important that our customers have the chance to talk to us about both our performance and our plans, and I’d like to thank everyone who attended our latest meeting.

“Our customers are set to see record investment in their water services over the next five years and our WaterShare+ scheme makes sure they each have a say in what this investment ultimately looks like.”

As well as the chance to put questions to Pennon’s executives and learn how the water supply in Plymouth is sourced and treated, customers were treated to a tour around Mayflower.
