A section of current and former students of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dhaka University today called on the organising committee to provide a valid explanation for renaming of the Mangal Shobhajatra to “Borshoboron Anondo Shobhajatra”.

In a press conference held today at 11:00am on the faculty premises, students also expressed dissatisfaction over the renaming of the Mangal Shobhajatra to “Borshoboron Anondo Shobhajatra”..

During the press briefing, the students voiced concern over what they described as a lack of adequate security measures surrounding the event. Additionally, they criticised the new system of organising the procession, which excludes students from taking lead roles, a departure from previous years.

Despite these concerns, the students called for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing disagreements and encouraged all to participate in the Pahela Baishakh celebration, wishing for the event’s success.
