Horizons Art Gallery is pleased to present “20/20 Vision: Clearly, Photography is Art,” a captivating photography exhibition celebrating the 60th birthday of photographer James Solomon. This milestone event also marks a creative collaboration with his mentee and close friend Brian Harry, whose work adds a fresh and evolving voice to the world of fine art photography.

Rooted in the symbolic meaning of “20/20 vision,” this exhibition explores both clarity of sight and depth of insight. It’s about more than sharp focus, it’s about perception, interpretation, and the emotional resonance of a moment. Through each photograph, James and Brian reveal their individual visions, exploring themes of light and shadow, nature and humanity, precision and spontaneity.

With a career spanning over 36 years, James Solomon has long believed that photography is more than a technical skill, it is a language of its own. His images, deeply personal and exquisitely composed, reflect a lifetime of seeing the world not just as it is, but as it feels. For James, this exhibition is both a celebration of the path he has walked and a tribute to the artistic potential of the medium he loves.

Alongside him is Brian Harry, a photographer who has spent the last 15 months learning under Solomon’s mentorship. Harry brings a complementary perspective, one that is rooted in curiosity and growth. His contributions to the exhibition reflect a deepening understanding of photography as fine art, offering moments of quiet wonder and bold vision.

Together, their work spans breathtaking landscapes, fleeting encounters, and quiet revelations, each image capturing the essence of a world often overlooked. 20/20 Vision is an invitation to pause, reflect, and see again.

The opening night of “20/20 Vision: Clearly Photography is Art” can be attended tomorrow, from 6.30pm to 8 pm at Horizons Art Gallery, located at 37 Mucurapo Road, St. James.
