Silver, jewellery and bijouterie specialist Maryanne Lineker-Mobberley, Asian art, watches, furniture, ceramics and general valuer Alexander Clement and pictures, print and sculpture specialist Abigail Molenaar will be available to value a host of items between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, May 10, on a first come, first served basis. No appointment is needed.

The team of experts discovered a Franz Bergmann cold painted bronze figure of a grouse, which sold for £1,650 and an amber bead necklace, which sold for £1,950, at the most recent valuation events held at the company’s Battlefield headquarters.

“Our May 10 valuation event is a great opportunity for people to have a wide range of items valued professionally without obligation to sell,” said Maryanne. “Recent auction results in all sections have shown that it’s a good time to sell quality items.

“We have recorded some excellent results for jewellery, silver, watches, coins, paintings, books, stamps, ceramics, militaria, Asian art, furniture and modern and contemporary design.

“Our team of experts is available to assess individual items or collections .Some of our most successful auctions have been built around single owner collections.

“Sometimes, owners are totally unaware of the true market value of items that have been stored away in a loft or a cupboard for years. That’s what makes our job  exciting; we never know what is going to turn up at our valuation events.”

In addition to the event at Halls’ headquarters, the fine art team will also be attending a series of other free valuation events across Shropshire, Mid Wales and surrounding counties this year.

Maryanne will be available at Weston Park, near Shifnal on May 6 from 10am to 1pm to value jewellery and silver by appointment and Alexander will be visiting the Halls office in Oswestry on May 30 from 10am to 2pm to value a full range of items by appointment.

Maryanne and Alexander team up for an event at Montgomery Town Hall on June 5, with appointments available from 10am to 2pm.

Alexander will be available for appointments at Halls’ Whitchurch office on June 24 and at the company’s Bishops Castle office on June 25, both from 10am to 2pm.

Appointments can be made with Halls Fine Art on 01743 450700.

Anyone wishing to have collections or large antiques valued at any of the events may take along photographs to show the specialists.
