Aamir Khan Mourns Demise Of Make-Up Artist Vikram Gaikwad, Recalls Working With Him In Dangal, PK, Rang De Basanti. (Credit: Instagram)

Legendary make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad passed away on May 10, 2025. He was admitted to the hospital due to blood pressure issues. Unfortunately, he breathed his last at the hospital, his brother said in a statement. Vikram Gaikwad’s last rites were held at 4:30 pm at Shivaji Park Crematorium, Dadar. Aamir Khan has recently mourned the demise of the make-up artist with whom he worked in films such as Dangal, PK, Rang De Basanti and so on.

Aamir Khan shared a note through his team’s Instagram handle, in which he mourned the demise of make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad. Aamir stated that he feels privileged to have worked with Vikram on several films.

Aamir Khan wrote, “It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to the legendary make-up artist Vikram Gaikwad. I had the pleasure of working with him in films like Dangal, PK and Rang De Basanti, to name a few. He was a true master of his craft and his work transformed many actors into unforgettable characters that will live forever on screen. Heartfelt condolences to the family from me, and everyone at AKP. We will miss you Dada (heart emoji).” (sic)

Let us tell you, Aamir has worked with late Vikram Gaikwad in films like Dangal, PK and Rang De Basanti. Vikram won a national award for a Bengali film in 2013.

Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde had also mourned Vikram Gaikwad’s demise on social media. He wrote, “With Vikram Gaikwad’s passing, we have lost an accomplished artist whose contribution to Indian cinema and theatre is immeasurable. On behalf of myself and the Shiv Sena party, I offer heartfelt tributes.”
