A hard rock artist received serious injuries following a fall.

Fortunately, he seems to be on the road to recovery.

In a Facebook post published Sunday, Sylvia Bechard — the wife of Aldo “Nova” Caporuscio, iconic ‘80s Canadian singer and guitarist — revealed that Nova had gotten hurt after falling down the stairs.

“Hello, my name is Sylvia Bechard, and I am Aldo Nova’s wife,” the post begins. “Due to an unfortunate fall down a flight of stairs, Aldo has suffered a cervical spine fracture at the level of C1, which is a serious injury.

“Fortunately, he does not need spinal surgery but has to wear a special neck brace for up to a year depending on his progress. I will keep you updated on a regular basis.”

“Tell Aldo I’ll keep his music alive while he’s recovering,” wrote a well-wisher in the post’s comments. “I’ll blast his music from my classic car that has Aldo as part of my license plate.”

“Prayers for the ultimate party-starting ‘80s rocker,” wrote another.

“Worked in the E.R. and O.R. for years,” states someone else. “He’s fortunate it’s only a neck brace.”

According to Louodwire, the 78-year-old — known for hits such as “Fantasy” — was forced to cancel about half a dozen upcoming tour dates in the United States as a result of this fracture.

UltimateClassicRock.com adds that the last time Nova performed was in March during a set on the 2025 Monsters of Rock Cruise. He had previously written in a June Facebook post that he had begun work on a setlist for the now-cancelled performances.

“Me and my Yorkshire Terrier Roxy taking in some fresh [air] before I lock myself away in the basement, working on the new set for our upcoming July shows where we’ll now be doing almost my completely first album, and, believe it or not, two songs from my ‘Twitch’ and ‘Subject’ and of course ‘Blood on Bricks’ albums.

“See you out there on the road. If i’m in your town, come on out. You won’t regret it.”

Further information regarding Nova’s recovery remains pending.
