A Burnham-On-Sea street artist is this week working on this extended version of his most colourful mural yet.
Robin Gunney created the first section of the huge Alice In Wonderland themed design in Allandale Road last year, as we reported here, which stretches across 30ft x 7ft of wall.
Now, he’s been invited back by the home owner to extend the artwork on a linked side wall, pictured here.
It features the famous White Rabbit, vibrant red toadstools, a pocket watch, the Cheshire Cat, poppies and Alice.
The artwork in Allandale Road, close to the beach access path, is a private commission by residents Jim and Sue Evans, who say they were so pleased with the first version that they wanted it to grow further.
“We love the artwork and have invited him back to extend it further – it always gets lots of admiring comments from passers-by,” says Jim.
Sue previously said got in touch with Robin after reading on Burnham-On-Sea.com last year about Robin’s fisherman’s art mural in Victoria Street.
“We love the story of Alice In Wonderland and so commissioned Robin to produce a themed design for us that brightens up the garage wall and puts a smile onto the faces of people walking past.”
The couple invited passers-by who like the artwork to pop a few coins in the charity tub by the gate to raise funds for Macmillan Hospice.
Robin of Seymour Walls Painted – who has been creating large-scale murals for over 15 years – say he’s been receiving positive feedback from passers-by this week.
He told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Extending the artwork onto another wall has been a lot of fun with some great results. I am also completing two other walls here at the same time, with one visible from the beach.”
