Grammy-nominated singer and television personality Tamar Braxton, 48, has revealed that she ‘almost died’ over the weekend in what she described as a near death accident. The star, best known for her music career and reality television appearances, told fans on Instagram that she was discovered by a friend ‘in a pool of blood’ at her home.

She disclosed that she suffered severe injuries, including a fractured nose, lost teeth and temporary mobility issues – similar to victims of assault. However, the artist admitted she does not remember what caused the ordeal.

The news has sparked widespread concern among fans, with searches for ‘what happened to Tamar Braxton’ trending across social media platforms in the United States and beyond.

Tamar Braxton’s Near Death Accident Details

According to Braxton’s Instagram posts, the frightening incident took place over the weekend in mid-August 2025. She revealed that a close friend found her injured and unresponsive before she was rushed to seek treatment. The singer explained that she awoke with extensive injuries and no recollection of the events leading up to them.

The star described the experience as life-changing and told followers she is focusing on healing. ‘I almost died Sunday. I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury,’ she wrote. ‘I don’t even know what happened to me.’

No further details regarding the cause of the accident or any official medical or police reports have yet been released.

Recovery Update and Fan Reactions

Based on her injuries, her recovery will require both physical and mental rehabilitation as she continues to deal with the trauma of the event. She confirmed that she is unable to walk properly and has suffered significant damage to her teeth and nose.

Messages of support have poured in from fans and fellow celebrities, with many urging her to take time away from work commitments to prioritise her health.

The lack of clarity surrounding the cause has only intensified public interest in the case, fuelling searches for ‘near death accident’ alongside her name.

Tamar Braxton’s Career at the Time of the Incident

At the time of the accident, Braxton was active in several high-profile projects. She is currently the host of MTV’s relationship investigation series Caught in the Act: Double Life, which premiered in June 2025.

Her family’s long-running reality show, The Braxtons, also returned in 2024 and was renewed for a second season in March 2025, with new episodes expected later this year.

In addition, she had been touring earlier in 2025 as part of the October Nights: Calling All Lovers tour, and listings show an upcoming appearance scheduled in Detroit in November 2025.

Personal Life and Past Challenges

Braxton, who is the youngest of the Braxton sisters, is mother to son Logan, whom she shares with ex-husband Vincent Herbert. In recent interviews, she has spoken about prioritising her family life and focusing on her role as a mother.

Her personal life has often been the subject of headlines, from high-profile relationships to her candid discussions about mental health. In 2020, she survived a mental health crisis, while in 2022 she was hospitalised with a severe flu infection. In 2023, she was the victim of a burglary at her home.

These incidents have contributed to a narrative of resilience that has defined much of her public career.
