The artist who painted King Charles III’s first official portrait has joined forces with others to raise cash for a charity.

Alastair Barford is one of many artists who have donated exclusive works to Horatio’s Garden to raise money for the charity.

The charity creates gardens for people with spinal injuries in NHS rehabilitation centres.

The auction, which runs until Sunday, October 26, will raise vital funds for the charity.

The artists join illustrator Quentin Blake, Sarah Armstrong-Jones and others who have contributed art pieces.

The auction is in collaboration with, and sponsored by, Woolley & Wallis, who will exhibit the works in its Salisbury showroom.

Dr Olivia Chapple, founder of Horatio’s Garden, said: “We’re so excited to unveil our third Horatio’s Garden Art Auction.

“We’re so grateful to all the artists, Woolley & Wallis, the-saleroom.com and everyone who kindly supports us in helping to ensure that no-one has to go through a life changing spinal injury and spend months in hospital without being able to use a Horatio’s Garden.”

Sophie Ryder said: “Horatio’s Garden is one of the loveliest charities I have been involved with.

“Creating an amazing environment for the wellbeing of patients is such an important part of recovery.”
