A SCOTS tourist told a Spanish court today she was sexually assaulted when she went to have a butterfly tattoo done during an Ibiza holiday.

The woman said the artist who inked her had “his tattoo gun in one hand” and his other “on her genitals.”

It emerged at the weekend that state prosecutors wanted the 50-year-old jailed for six years if he is convicted of the sex assault.

Today, he was named at a court in the Majorcan capital Palma, where he went on trial as Edgardo Jesus Milessi Oviedo.

He was charged by an investigating judge following a lengthy probe into the alleged late-night sex crime on June 15, 2022, at a tattoo parlour in San Jose, a municipality in the south-west of Ibiza, which includes areas like the party resort of Playa d’en Bossa as well as peaceful fishing villages.

Prosecutors said in a two-page pre-trial indictment that he targeted his alleged victim, 21 at the time, after she asked to have a butterfly tattoo done on her left hip.

They claimed he put his fingers inside her after she lay down on a stretcher in an assault they said lasted 25 minutes and caused her “great anguish and fear.”

The holidaymaker reported him to police in Scotland when she got back home, prompting his arrest on August 11, 2022.

Police said after holding him, he had previous for incidents of a similar nature, although they didn’t make it clear at the time if they had resulted in court convictions.

The Scots tourist corroborated her previous allegations at today’s public hearing, in front of three professional judges who will decide Milessi’s fate rather than a jury.

The judges heard a female friend had the same inking done before her without any problems.

The tattoo artist protested his innocence, saying the claim he had sexually assaulted the tourist was “made up.”

State prosecutors said after the one-day trial finished, they were sticking with their pre-trial six-year jail demand.

The judges are now considering their verdict and are expected to announce it in writing in the next three to four weeks.

The tattoo artist remains on bail pending their decision.

State prosecutors said before his trial they wanted him to pay his victim €15,000 (£13,200) if he was found guilty as charged, as well as receiving the six-year prison sentence.

They also indicated they wanted him barred from working as a tattoo artist for eight years.

And they are seeking a 10-year restraint order preventing him from going within 200 metres of his female accuser if convicted.
