John Duffin’s latest calendar features a collection of his paintings of iconic landmarks and scenes from around the area.
Known for creating beautiful, hand-crafted calendars paying homage to the landscape of Furness, Mr Duffin will be offering signed copies of his newest calendar in the coming weeks.
Mr Duffin said: “I take a great deal of care choosing the images for the calendar and this year the calendar features paintings of Roa Island, Furness Abbey, Walney Lighthouse, Piel Island, Black Combe, The Hoad Ulverston and Dalton Castle.
“The 2026 calendar features views of Barrow, Walney, Piel Island, Dalton, and Ulverston. I have tried to make a high quality product that captures the essence of the area, it’s great buildings, historic monuments, wonderful sea views and dramatic skies.”
A unique snapshot of Mr Duffin’s hometown and local area, the calendar has become a well-established celebration of the region.
“I try and capture the arc of the year,” he said. “I choose paintings showing the seasons and reflecting places that I associate with each month.
“This is the 18th year the calendar has been published, and it sells out each year. Many copies are even sent to Cumbrians living in other parts of the UK or abroad – it brings part of Cumbria close to them.”
The artist urged anyone interested in the calendar to make sure they buy one early to avoid disappointment.
