Spotify Wrapped 2025 update and artist of the year revealed – and it’s not Taylor Swift – The Mirror

As users receive their personalised music reports from Spotify’s highly anticipated Wrapped feature, here’s everything you need to know about the update and this year’s top global artist

Everything you need to know about Spotify Wrapped 2025

  • Spotify Wrapped 2025 is the annual feature that provides users with a comprehensive summary of their individual listening habits across music and podcasts.
  • The feature’s launch was highly anticipated, with Spotify encouraging fans to “Warm up before Wrapped” leading up to the December 3rd release. To access the full, interactive experience, users must ensure their Spotify application is updated on their mobile device or tablet.
  • This year’s edition introduced several new interactive elements, most notably the Listening Age and Clubs features. The former compares a user’s music taste to an age range based on the tracks’ release years, while the latter sorts listeners into distinct community groups based on their streaming style.
  • A significant addition for 2025 was the integration of data on user audiobook consumption into the Wrapped experience for the first time. The recap now spotlights a user’s top audiobooks and genres, often including special video clips from authors and narrators.
  • Reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny secured the title of Spotify’s Top Global Artist for 2025, a position he has now held for a historic fourth time. This achievement marks him dethroning Taylor Swift, who had claimed the coveted top spot for the previous two consecutive years.
  • Bad Bunny also clinched the Global Top Album of 2025 with his latest release, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS. Meanwhile, the most-streamed song worldwide was the collaboration Die With A Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.
  • Despite the global results, Taylor Swift maintained her dominance in key regional markets, securing the position of the most-streamed artist in both the UK and the U.S. In the UK specifically, the top track of the year was Ordinary by Alex Warren, highlighting its significant domestic popularity.
