The Growing Artist Programme will be the official charitable partner for the 2026 Sovereign Young Artist Competition, run in conjunction with Cultural Services.

The Growing Artist programme is a non-profit initiative aimed at nurturing young artistic talent.

The Sovereign Art Foundation says both organisations “share a vision of encouraging creativity, widening access to artistic education, and empowering the next generation of Gibraltar’s artists”.

The foundation adds this year also marks the expansion of the competition’s age range, with entries now accepted from people aged 11 to 24. It says this has been made possible through its partnership with Cultural Services.

All finalists’ works in the Sovereign Young Artist Competition 2026 will be made available for sale during two public exhibitions in March and April.

The Foundation says proceeds will be split 50/50, with half going directly to the artist, and half donated to the Growing Artist Programme in support of its initiatives.

It says, “This model not only rewards students for their creativity and hard work, but also strengthens arts-focused initiatives within the community”.
