Juddmonte’s Lockinge Stakes winner Lead Artist has had his first mares scanned in foal.

Among those already confirmed in foal are Juddmonte’s Classical Times, a stakes-winning and Group 3-placed half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf winner Newspaperofrecord; and Hugh Brunton Bloodstock’s Whispering Dawn, a Mehmas mare from the family of Group 1 winner and sire Zoffany.

Another in foal is Culworth Grounds’ two-year-old winner Tiptoe, a half-sister to dual Group 2 winner and Group 1-placed Military Law.

A homebred for the Abdullah family’s operation, Lead Artist is by Dubawi and out of the Group 2-winning and Group 1-placed Frankel mare Obligate, a granddaughter of blue hen Hasili.

Lead Artist’s career highlight came when defeating Classic winners Rosallion, Notable Speech and Fallen Angel in last year’s Lockinge. He was also a dual Group 3 winner at three for John and Thady Gosden.

He stands at Banstead Manor Stud for a fee of £12,500.
