57th annual ‘Evening of Fine Arts’ happening on May 6

Detroit’s next generation of artists is getting ready for a big night on one of the city’s most iconic stages.

Detroit Public Schools Community District is hosting its 57th annual “Evening of Fine Arts” at the Fox Theatre, showcasing student talent from across the city.

From music and theater to visual art, this event is all about giving students a platform to perform and build confidence for their future.

Chrystal Wilson, spokesperson for the district; Dr. Lisa Reynolds, principal of DSA; and Jaelen Reaves, a student from DPSCD, all joined Local 4 Live to discuss it further.

The event is free, but people need to register. You can register here.

You can watch the full interview in the video at the beginning of this article.
