Hannibal, Mo. (KHQA) — The Hannibal Arts Council is partnering with Two Fathoms Tattoo & Gallery to host a one night only event to spotlight the art of the tattoo culture. The event will feature an immersive studio installation, flash book and fine art, interactive tattoo demo, live models, music, and food and drink.

Tattoos After Dark will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2nd at the Hannibal Arts Council, located at 105 S Main Street.

The public is encouraged to come learn more about the art of tattooing in a welcoming environment surrounded by original art, tattoo artistry and live models showcasing tattoos. The gallery setting will add to the environment, as the guests will be surrounded by both 2-D and 3-D art, some of it moving throughout the room.

“I would encourage everyone, whether familiar with tattoo culture or not, to attend,” says HAC Director Michael Gaines.

“The culture of body ink is no longer reserved for sailors and bikers. The professionalism and high industry standards have brought tattoos into the mainstream and more broadly accepted by the general public all around the world.”

“Tattoos are increasingly viewed as a legitimate artform, and the artistry can be mind-blowing. It should be a fun time and certainly a unique experience.”

For more information on this and other Hannibal Arts Council programs, call 573-221-6545, stop by 105 S. Main Street, or visit their website.
