A BOURNEMOUTH graduate illustrator has been named the artist-in-residence for a popular festival.

Gabrielle Parker, who graduated from Arts University Bournemouth, has been named as the artist in residence for Arts by the Sea 2025.

The festival, which takes place from Friday, September 26, to Sunday, September 28, celebrates art, culture and people.

Gabrielle, who is known for her “surreal” digital work, will bring her unique style to the festival.

She will create a new installation as well as the festival’s visual identity.

“Having lived, studied and grown as an artist in Bournemouth, it feels incredibly special to be part of a festival that celebrates everything I love about this community; its vibrancy, its creativity and its spirit of self-expression.

“I can’t wait to bring my world of strange, surreal characters to life and invite audiences to immerse themselves in playful, vivid spaces where everyone can revel in who they are.”

Councillor Andy Martin, portfolio holder for customer, communications, and culture, said: “It’s a pleasure to be collaborating with Gabrielle this year.

“Her passion for Bournemouth and her extraordinary creativity will bring a unique energy to this year’s event.”
