Joe Usher will perform his new album ‘Church’, which is available on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Music, at St Mary’s Church in High Hesket on Saturday, August 30 at 7pm.

‘Church’ was officially released on Friday, August 22, however, the High Hesket event will see him perform all of its songs for the first time.

According to Joe, his album has something for everyone, from soul ballads and choral gospel to hip-hop and poetry, with this set to be showcased at the free-to-enter event.

Joe will also be supported at the album party by singer, pianist, and producer Salo and has told attendees to expect ‘a couple of special guests.’

He said: “I’m absolutely buzzing to be performing back in Carlisle and especially back in the village I grew up and went to school.

“And I couldn’t think of a better place to showcase my new album ‘Church’ than in the church I was christened and spent so much time in growing up.

“It’s a perfect, full circle moment.

“It’s about to trials and tribulations of growing up. Specifically in a rural setting. The ups and downs.

“Sonically I think there’s something for everyone: soul ballads, choral gospel moments, straight up hip-hop and some poetry as well.”

He said: “I’ve never been a fan of the idea that even to see local artists you sometimes have to trek to bigger cities to do so.

“I think we should always celebrate amongst each other.

“I’m proud to be from Carlisle and I hope I can make the people of Carlisle proud of me too.

“I would love to see you all there.”
