Verena Daniels, 76, has been a fixture in Gainsborough Road, Felixstowe, since 2001, when she opened, the doors of Reunion Studio with her friend and fellow artist, Pat Todd.
In that time, Mrs Daniels has made a name for herself in the seaside town for her variety of intricate and unique pieces. From seascapes, autumnal scenes and depictions of the iconic Felixstowe docks.
“It’s a whole variety – it appeals to everybody,” said Mrs Daniels.

Originally an Ipswich girl, Mrs Daniels returned to our part of the world from Nottingham where she raised her family and worked in a variety of roles, including as a pharmacy assistant for the Co-op.
Having joined a pottery studio, Mrs Daniels grew to love ceramics, leading her to pursue an Art and Design degree at the Colchester Institute.
“I started off crossing over from ceramics – but then the glass took over!” laughed Mrs Daniels.

After opening the studio in Gainsborough Road, Mrs Daniels and Mrs Todd ran the space together for some years, with a gallery next door to showcase their works.
For the past 13 years, Mrs Daniels has run the space by herself. However, she is now gradually beginning the process of retiring, selling her final pieces, and looking to turn over a new chapter.
“I’ve enjoyed it, but the time has come,” Mrs Daniels said.
