Sir Tom Jones is a Welsh national treasure, a fixture in British music for over 50 years. Tom has recorded over 30 Top 40 songs, landing three Number 1 singles with It’s Not Unusual, Green Green Grass Of Home, and later with Islands In The Stream in 2009. He has also notched up four Number 1 albums across his long career.
In April 2021 Tom Jones reaffirmed his status as a chart icon when his album Surrounded By Time landed straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, setting a new UK chart record. At 80 years and 10 months old, Tom became the oldest male to claim a UK Number 1 album, and the oldest artist ever to do so with an album of new material, overtaking Bob Dylan, who topped the chart at 79 years old the previous June with Rough And Rowdy Ways. Aside from his career as a music performer, Tom is also known for his on-off role as a coach on The Voice UK.
