For more than four decades, Edmond Fine Arts has served as a creative hub for the community, offering opportunities for residents of all ages to explore visual and performing arts.
Located in downtown Edmond, the nonprofit organization is dedicated to inspiring creativity and enriching lives through arts education, exhibitions, and performances.
Through classes, community programs, and partnerships, Edmond Fine Arts works to make art accessible and engaging for children and adults.
The organization began in 1985 with a simple conversation between four Edmond mothers who noticed their children had limited access to art programs in school. They started teaching art and music in a rented classroom at a local church, keeping supplies in their car trunks and enrolling students through an answering machine at home.
Edmond Fine Arts has grown into a thriving arts center with an 8,000-square-foot facility at 27 East Edwards Street. The organization now reaches tens of thousands of people each year through in-house classes and community outreach programs.
It offers a wide variety of programs including drawing, painting, ceramics, jewelry design, theater, photography, and filmmaking. Classes are available for toddlers, children, teens, and adults to help community members develop creative skills at every stage of life.
The nonprofit also hosts gallery exhibitions, art shows, and community events that highlight local artists and encourage cultural engagement. Partnerships with organizations such as Edmond Public Schools and local nonprofits also help bring art education to students and underserved groups throughout the community.
Programs are designed not only to teach artistic techniques but also to build confidence, encourage self-expression, and strengthen community connections through creativity.
