The Cleveland Ballet is returning to Vermilion’s historic Harbourtown Fine Arts Center, 736 Main St., for its annual summer performance of “Encore.”

The events begin at 6 p.m. July 26 with a reception inside the Opera House with a variety of hors d’oeuvres, wines and beverages, according to a news release.

The outdoor performance will begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn, the release said.

Patrons will enjoy a selection of classical performances inspired by Pablo Picasso’s connection to dance, including excerpts from Don Quixote and Paquita to highlight the legendary artist’s connection to Ballets Russes and his home country of Spain, according to the release.

Additionally, the Cleveland Ballet will present the pas de deux Harlequinade, bringing Picasso’s famous Harlequin paintings to life reflecting energy, colors and emotions through movement, the release said.

“What Do We Do Now” is a piece created by Cleveland Ballet artist Katharine Cowan and was featured at the company’s ChoreoLab program, according to the release.

“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Cleveland Ballet back to Vermilion for another unforgettable evening,” said Jim Chapple, president of the  Harbourtown Fine Arts Center and educational coordinator for the Cleveland Ballet, in the release. “It’s always a joy to see the community come together to experience world-class ballet in such a charming setting, right here in our own backyard.”

A variety of tickets are available for purchase at CleveBallet.org/Encore or calling 216-320-9000 ext. 107.

In the event of inclement weather, “Encore” will be performed on July 27.
