The Black Artists of DC will hold its fourth annual Original Fine Art Postcard Sale from Nov. 9-10 from noon to 5 p.m. at 336 Randolph Place NE in the District.

African American artists and curators from across the DMV region have created original artwork the size of a 5” x 7” postcards for sale to the public. The works will be in a lobby exhibition and this year’s theme is “ACTIVATE.”

Artists were asked to create pieces inspired by the legacy of Black people to call new realities into being. All postcards will be sold for $40 each, cash/card and carry.

Artists known locally, regionally, nationally and internationally will have original works available.

A printmaking workshop with internationally known artist Adjoa Burrowes, discussion on “What Makes a Print a Print,” moderated by Gia Harewood of Giametric Art, and more will be presented. No tickets are needed.

It is recommended that patrons arrive early to get the best buys. The funds support the organization’s residency exhibitions and the many activities held to support Black artists and Black visual culture in the DMV and beyond.

“This event is always fun. I meet the artists, see fine art that I can afford, and learn more about collecting art,” said Cheryl Edwards, a D.C. artist. “Please come out and support Black visual artists.”
