Peter Symonds College showcased the work of fine art, photography, textiles, 3D sculpture, graphics, product design, and media makeup students across the college campus on Monday, June 30.

The event featured performances from classical and contemporary music students in the college’s new state-of-the-art Russell Music Centre.

Media and film students presented their work at a cinema screening, alongside performances from dance, performing arts, English, and LAMDA students.

The event was opened by the Mayor of Winchester, Cllr Sudhakar Achwal and the mayoress Cllr Vivian Achwal.

It served as a celebration of the students’ skills but also marked the college’s ongoing commitment to promoting arts and culture.

The college is working towards achieving Artsmark status, a national award accredited by Arts Council England, which recognises educational establishments for their commitment to arts and cultural education. This initiative began in September 2024.

The quality standard is designed to help embed the arts across the curriculum and beyond, fostering creativity, improving pupil outcomes and progression opportunities.
