PULASKI, NY –  The Salmon River Fine Arts Center recently received funding from New York State Center of the Arts (NYSCA) for a part time Program Coordinator to oversee the day to day activities, events and education programs of the arts center. Over the past thirty years, the arts center has been an all volunteer run organization located in Pulaski with leadership and management provided by the President of the Board of Directors and key volunteers.  As the arts center continues to grow, the Board has recognized the need for a dedicated Program Coordinator to oversee daily operations and the administration of programs.

Working closely with the Board of Directors as an indispensable advisor, the new program coordinator will help plan, implement and oversee various programs and classes that fulfill their mission of engaging, educating and enriching the community through  art.  The Program Coordinator will manage a team of volunteers, independent contractors (instructors) and class coordinators for the organization’s senior, adult and youth programs, as well as assist with grant-writing and fundraising to ensure the future vitality of the organization.

Pay will be $25,000 per year for approximately 20 hours per week. Although the gallery is open Thursday through Saturday and is run by a dedicated team of volunteers, classes and programs are scheduled at various times and days to meet the needs of the community. Some work may be done remotely, but the Program Coordinator is anticipated to create his or her own schedule that includes working onsite to help monitor programs and ensure classes are running smoothly. Occasional nights and weekends are required for special events, exhibit openings and public occasions. The Coordinator must be able to use stairs to access supplies and classrooms on other floors.  For more details on responsibilities and qualifications, please visit the Salmon River Fine Arts Center website.  Interested applicants should email a resume and cover letter: to [email protected]. Although the goal is to fill the position by March 1st, the Job posting will remain open until filled with a successful candidate.

The Salmon River Fine Arts Center is located at 4848 N Jefferson St., Pulaski, NY 13142. It is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization founded in 1991 that opened its doors to display art and engage the community to participate in art shows and classes in 1994. Over the past thirty years since, this all volunteer run organization has continued to grow and provide a variety of programs to fulfill the mission of enriching, engaging and educating the community through art. All of which supports their larger vision of connecting the whole community and giving voice through art to cultivate a more vibrant, caring and creative community.
