Continuing its long-standing tradition of showcasing local artistic talent, Peterborough Art Society will present its annual exhibition from May 16-23 in the city centre’s St John’s Church.

Founded in 1929, Peterborough Art Society has been a central part of the city’s creative community for nearly a century, supporting both amateur and professional artists and encouraging artistic development in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Peterborough Art Society is dedicated to supporting artists at all stages of their development. They offer regular meetings, demonstrations and exhibitions, encouraging artistic growth and contributing to the cultural life of our city.

This year’s exhibition will bring together a diverse collection of original work from both emerging and established local artists highlighting a wide range of styles, techniques and artistic approaches.

Commenting on the exhibition, Deborah Gaylor, Chair of Peterborough Art Society, said: “As the newly appointed Chair, it is both an honour and a pleasure to introduce this year’s collection.

“Spring is a season of renewal, creativity and fresh perspectives, with our exhibition reflecting exactly that.

“This year’s exhibition brings together a wide range of styles and mediums, reflecting both individual expression and a shared passion for art. We invite you to come and explore, enjoy and be inspired.”

The exhibition, open to the public throughout the week from 10am to 4pm, offers visitors an opportunity to engage with the work of local artists and win a prize by voting for their favourite painting at the show.
