A potential sprinting star emerged on Saturday at Flemington, as Ciaron Maher’s She’s An Artist made it two wins from two starts with a stunning victory down the straight.

The three-year-old daughter of trapeze artist was a dominant maiden winner at Bendigo last start and brought her form to town as a well-backed $4 second favourite over 1100 metres.

Craig Williams never looked worried as She’s An Artist led the outside division, and he needn’t have been, as the bald-faced filly left her rivals behind with a lightning turn of foot.

It was a win that impressed visually and on the clock, and with her peculiar markings and fierce speed, one couldn’t help but be reminded of Apache Cat.

“It was a fantastic win. To her credit, she split, and she had to go on her own,” assistant trainer Jack Turnbull said.

“They ran pretty slick times early, and she was able to travel comfortably and then build off that… only above average horses can maintain and sustain that

“She was pretty soft on the line, it’s pretty exciting.”
