The street artwork has been spray-painted onto a wall on Oat Street and has already been catching the attention of passers-by.
It depicts a small boy, squatting on the ground, who is visibly upset.
While members of local Facebook groups have speculated whether well-known street artist Banksy might have visited the town, West Midlands-based artist Disney has claimed the piece.
He shared an image on his Instagram page, dubbing the piece ‘The crying boy’ and has told Worcester News what the meaning behind it is, explaining that it represents the impact of various crises on today’s children.
He said: “It represents children of today that are suffering from our mistakes.
“We’re moving too fast for the ecology, consumed by technology and doomed economically.
“Just put the news on for an hour see the hate in the country, let alone the world crime and war.
“It’s spiralling out of control and it’s our children that will suffer from it, from the cost of living crisis to global warming to the toxic air they breathe.
“If I was a child today I would would be crying too with the state of the place. A place where human emotions have gone sour
“They are our future. Start providing them a path.”
Disney has been known to make his mark around Worcestershire, including a graffiti on Trininty Passage in Worcester earlier this year, which showed a child wearing a hoodie and a gas mask.
