Ballymena artist Paul Bell has marked 25 years since he began painting the subject that would become synonymous with his name.

Since 2001, Bell’s powerful paintings of cows, set against vivid, colourful backgrounds, have earned him both local acclaim and international recognition.

Born in 1968, Paul studied Art and Design at Newport College before graduating with a First Class Honours degree from the University of Wales.

He has since built a distinguished career, becoming a regular contributor to both the Royal Ulster Academy (RUA) and the Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA).

With his paintings well known for their ability to elevate a familiar subject into an enduring artistic icon, Paul said he was “extremely proud” of where the artworks have brought him in his painting career.

The local artist’s work is held in private and public collections throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ireland.
