The Behind The Artist (BTA) organisation aims to make the art world more inclusive by sharing artist stories and running creative competitions.

Alfie, who specialises in fine art and portraiture, described the win as “exciting and unexpected”.

His win was determined by a panel of established artists, including renowned painter and materials expert Michael Harding.

As part of the prize, Mr G will receive a cash award, a supply of professional art materials, and a feature interview on the BTA channel.

There is also the potential for his work to be exhibited.

He was first shortlisted before being selected as the overall winner in his category.

The BTA Art Prize was established in 2024.

It welcomes entries in all two-dimensional media, including painting, drawing, mixed media, textiles, and original printmaking.
