Olivia Dean has been on the rise for years, but now the East London singer’s moment has truly arrived – making history as the first solo British woman to have four singles in the Top 10 at once
Her journey has been slow, soulful and unstoppable – and now Olivia Dean has just made British music history.
The 26 year old singer-songwriter from East London has become the first solo British female artist to land four singles in the Official Charts Top 10 simultaneously.
Her songs “Man I Need” came in on the charts at number 2, “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” in at number 6, “Nice To Each Other” at number 8 and lastly, her collaboration with Sam Fender “Rein Me In” sitting at number 10, are all firmly positioned in the Top 10 – an achievement even Adele didn’t accomplish during her chart-topping reign.

Back in 2012, Adele became the first British woman to secure three Top 10 singles at once. Thirteen years on, Olivia’s smashed that milestone, making her the only British woman ever to claim four.
Who is Olivia Dean?
Born in Haringey in 1999, Olivia Lauryn Dean was raised in a British and Jamaican-Guyanese family immersed in music, down to her middle name which was a nod to Lauryn Hill – among the numerous soulful artists who influenced her style.
She began signing in gospel choirs and musical theatre productions before she attended the BRIT School, where she honed her song writing skills and unique vocal quality.

Following several EPs including Ok Love You Bye and Growth, her first album Messy (2023) established her as one of Britain’s most compelling emerging talents – fusing neo-soul, jazz, pop and R&B with raw emotional depth. The album also secured her a Mercury Prize nomination and a BRIT Award nomination, paving the way for what’s become an extraordinary breakthrough year.
Music business expert, Jo Charrington, president of Capitol Records UK has described her accomplishment as an “exceptional achievement,” and nods to the 26 year old selling out arenas across the UK, Europe and Australia drawing in listeners around the world.
What can we expect next from Olivia?
Last month we saw as her studio album, The Art of Loving was released and examines affection in its multiple dimensions – romance, self-acceptance and friendship. The record’s flagship single “Man I Need” has already established itself as amongst Britain’s most significant releases this year, securing the 2nd spot on top 10.
She also announced her biggest ever UK and EU headline tour to date, kickstarting April 2026 , including 4 sold-out nights at The O2 London and we can be sure we’ll be hearing more about the 26 year old over the next few months.
