Horacio Rodriguez Launches Artist and Label Services Company

Latin music executive Horacio Rodriguez has launched Fundamentals, a new artist and label services company headquartered in Miami.

“Launching Fundamentals marks a new chapter in my journey to support and elevate Latin artists by reimagining their path to success — rooted in innovation, cultural impact, creative freedom, and the long-term sustainability of their businesses in a fast-changing industry,” said Rodriguez, who will assume the role of president/CEO, in a statement.

Rodriguez brings more than 20 years of expertise working with artists and teams to amplify Latin music’s presence on the global stage. His career includes leadership positions at Universal Music Latin Entertainment (UMLE), Machete Music and Capitol Latin. Most recently, he served as CEO at WK Records and the head of music at WK Entertainment.

Rodriguez’s track record includes working with top talent like Colombian superstar Ryan Castro, whom he brought to WK Records through an artist and label services partnership. Under Rodriguez’s guidance, the self-proclaimed “cantante del ghetto” has risen to international fame, becoming one of the best-selling artists in his home country.

“Rodriguez will continue to steer Castro’s career in partnership with WK and longtime manager Leandro Arango,” notes the press release. Billboard Español previously spotlighted Castro’s journey in a feature that saw the Colombian artist reflect on how the Caribbean island of Curaçao helped shape his life and his artistic identity.

In 2023, Rodriguez was recognized as a Billboard Latin Power Player. He also made appearances on Billboard‘s 30 Under 30 and 40 Under 40 lists earlier in his career. At Billboard Latin Music Week 2022, the executive shared his insights during a panel titled “5 Ways to Make Money From Your Music.”
