Art will rule this weekend at the World’s Most Famous Beach.
One of the area’s premiere fall gatherings again beckons art, music and outdoor event lovers as the 62nd Annual Halifax Art Festival unfolds Saturday and Sunday along Beach Street in downtown Daytona Beach.
Touted as the second oldest continuing festival in Florida, the free event offers a unique blend of fine arts, crafts, music, food and fun. According to organizers, it typically attracts a crowd of roughly 30,000 visitors from across the Interstate 4 corridor from Tampa to the World’s Most Famous Beach.
The festival’s calling card is its spotlight on an array of juried local, regional and national original works of art representing more than 200 artists.
Presented by the Guild of the Museum of Arts & Sciences, the event is the signature fund-raiser for the museum. Hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. Visit halifaxartfestival.com for details.
Sip and stroll in New Smyrna Beach
Wine and walking make a fine combination at the monthly Sip & Stroll event that offers a chance to sample craft beers or wine and explore the Canal Street Historic District in New Smyrna Beach.
The monthly event, a fixture on first Saturdays, runs from 1-6 p.m.
Tickets are $23.47, plus tax, which includes a self-guided passport for access to more than a dozen restaurants and other participating businesses, drink tickets, a wristband and a souvenir glass.
Returning participants already equipped with a souvenir glass get $2 off the ticket price when purchased in person.
You can buy tickets day-of-event at the information booth at Christmas Park or online until 5 p.m.
Be advised that ticket purchases at the event are cash only. Participants must be 21 years of age or older, with proof of age required.

Art Walk in Ormond Beach
The monthly first-Saturday Ormond Beach Art Walk again offers an opportunity to stroll and survey the works in an array of the city’s fine art galleries — Ocean Art Gallery, Frame of Mind, The Arts Spotlight, The Studio by Artist Angel Lowden — as well as the Ormond Memorial Art Museum and Gardens.
Guests also are invited to visit additional downtown shops featuring artists for the evening. An Art Walk shuttle sponsored by AdventHealth will make it easy to visit venues on both the east and west side of the Granada Boulevard bridge.

In Barberville, a country jamboree
If you’re interested in old-time pioneer living skills or authentic traditional music, you’ll want to explore what’s on tap this weekend in Barberville, off State Road 40 on the western fringe of Volusia County.
The 48th Annual Fall Country Jamboree is a beloved annual tradition at the Barberville Pioneer Settlement, 1776 Lightfoot Lane in Barberville.
Event highlights include demonstrations of pioneer living skills such as blacksmithing, cane grinding, spinning, weaving and wood working. There also will be an array of original work from crafters and artists as well as a lineup of more than 170 musical performances on six stages throughout the event on Saturday and Sunday.
If you wear your dancing shoes, there’s also an old-time barn dance on the agenda.
It runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $10 adults, $5 ages 6-12, free for age 5 and younger at the gate. Visit pioneersettlement.org for details.
In Flagler, a First Friday celebration
As time marches on, it’s time for another monthly First Friday party in Flagler Beach.
The free event runs from 5:30-9 p.m. Friday at Veterans Park, 101 N. Ocean Shore Blvd., in Flagler Beach.
It features free live music, crafts and food from local vendors, kids activities and a lovely beachside backdrop for a family-friendly celebration. Nearby businesses and museums will stay open late for the occasion. Go to visitflagler.com for details.
