NEW and experienced artists from Malaysia and beyond have come together to showcase their work at the 5th Inspired Fine Art Exhibition from Sept 5-21.

Curated by Inspired Fine Art Studio and Capital Fine Art Gallery, the exhibition themed “Kita 2.0”, brings together 33 artists from Malaysia, South Africa, China and Hong Kong.

“It adds to the multicultural nature of the exhibition,” said Inspired Fine Art Studio principal Yeo Eng Peng.

“A total of 140 works are on display this time, ranging from watercolour, oil and acrylic paintings, to sculptures and mixed media.”

All of the featured artists are current and former students of Inspired Fine Art Studio.

The inaugural Inspired Fine Art Exhibition – Kita 1.0, held in 2023, featured over 300 pieces.

Yeo, who is also the Malaysian Watercolour Society vice-chairman and a lecturer at the Dasein Academy of Art, said he encouraged his students to find their own voice and that “everything has to come from the heart”.

To engage a wider audience, the organisers have scheduled weekend art workshops on Sept 13-14 and Sept 20-21 aimed at adults and children.

Participants will learn watercolour, batik, acrylic and palette knife painting techniques as well as how to work with clay.
