Art viewers are invited to ponder tranquil beauty of simplicity during “Sereneness”, which is running at Richard Koh Fine Art until Nov 16.

The exhibition showcases a new body of work that explores the profound connection between humans and nature by Thai artist Kanokpon Somchua. He reflects on the harmony between the natural world and human life, highlighting how our environment influences emotions and perceptions.

Drawing from personal experiences of solitude in nature, the Nakhon Si Thammarat native translates these moments into minimalist visual expressions. Simplified forms of trees, branches and natural elements evoke a sense of calm and mindfulness, mirroring the inner peace that arises from deep contemplation of the natural world.

The 28-year-old artist describes this series as a journey of self-discovery, where external landscapes inspire an inner transformation. Through careful observation of light, shadow and organic forms, the works capture the serenity of nature while inviting viewers to pause and reflect on their own relationships with their surroundings.

His artistic process fosters a meditative space, providing respite from the chaos of modern life and encouraging a deeper appreciation of nature’s simplicity and significance.

The exhibition offers viewers a serene and reflective experience, underscoring the interconnectedness of all living things and the importance of nurturing a positive relationship with the natural world.

Richard Koh Fine Art is located on the 9th floor of Peterson Building, Sukhumvit Road, and opens Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 7pm.
