Jakarta (ANTARA) – Minister of Culture Fadli Zon stated that fine arts are one of the driving forces of an inclusive and sustainable national economy.

He stated that the government will support contemporary art events such as Art Jakarta 2025 and others through various regulations and concrete support.

“This is certainly aligned with the national economic vision of making creativity a pillar of national development,” Fadli Zon said in Jakarta on Friday.

The ministry remains committed to encouraging the growth of the sector through various policies, facilitation, and ecosystem support, particularly for collaboration between artists, educational institutions, the government, private partners, and the media, he said.

He stated that fine arts can also strengthen national identity, expand international networks, and open opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

He added that the creative industry is growing, and he projects that the creative economy will be able to grow rapidly through the Cultural and Creative Industry (CCI).

“CCI is a terminology we will hear more often in the future, because it is much more sustainable and will become an engine for growth,” he said.

When asked about the CCI’s potential contribution to the Indonesian economy, Fadli Zon agreed to calculate the intended economic impact, noting that many sub-sectors of the creative economy require further study.

He projected that film, music, dance, and visual arts would generate significant employment opportunities for artists, management, curators, and other support teams.
