Emily Toomer is presenting her latest collections in the gallery space at 88 Crane Street.

This marks a new venture for Ms Toomer, who, after deciding to pursue painting as her primary career, has seen recent success with exhibitions at Arundells and Fisherton Mill.

The gallery, “Emily Toomer Fine Art,” is home to her spring/summer pieces for 2026 as part of an exhibition that will open on April 2.

There is a private view on Saturday, March 28, at 5.30pm, and then from April, the gallery will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm.

The ‘bois et jardins’ collection, which involves chunky pointillism, captures the beauty of different woodlands and gardens such as Kew, Manor, and Longstock water gardens.

Another of Ms Toomer’s collections, ‘Human geology,’ employs smooth blends of earth colours, drawing comparisons between the human form and geological shapes such as volcanic elements and magnetic force.

Ms Toomer said she is also looking forward to presenting a range of paintings from local artist, Jane Walker, with her impeccably stylised realism of local architecture in delicious twilight hues.

Ms Toomer has been painting since childhood.

At the age of 15, she sold her first piece, a painting of a thatched pub in Dorset, for £80.

Since then, she has completed numerous commissions of homes and gardens, classic cars, old aeroplanes and, later on, large abstract artworks and striking landscapes.

Alongside a teaching career that spanned 20 years in local primary and prep schools, Ms Toomer continued to paint, exhibiting in several local businesses and undertaking large commissioned projects for international corporate companies.
