UNM’s College of Fine Arts wants to make it easier for new students with ARTSSPLASH. It’s an annual celebration to highlight the various fine arts programs at UNM.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Going through college can be a little daunting, from choosing the right college to living on your own for the first time. Then, you have to choose what you want to study.

UNM’s College of Fine Arts wants to make it easier for new students with Art Splash. It’s an annual celebration to highlight the various fine arts programs at UNM.

KOB 4 met up with Harris Smith, the dean for the College of Fine Arts. He says the idea of the “starving artist” is a thing of the past.

“You don’t have to do one thing. That you can be in math and can be a visual artist and those two things can come together,” said Smith.

The College of Fine Arts also hosted a career fair to connect students with potential employers, including Meow Wolf and local museums.
