As of Friday afternoon, Drake became the most-streamed artist in a single day on Spotify in 2026, while “Iceman” became the most-streamed album in a single day this year. The record’s opening track “Make Them Cry” also secured its place as the most-streamed song in a single day in 2026.
That’s not the only streaming service where Drake has made waves. On Amazon Music, “Iceman” had the biggest first 24-hour streaming debut globally for a hip-hop album in 2026, while the trio of albums collectively delivered the biggest first 24-hour streaming debut globally in 2026.
Drake is taking a victory lap with his latest three records, which dropped as a surprise on Thursday night. The rapper had been teasing his ninth album “Iceman” for roughly two years, including three livestream episodes where he teased new music that were assumedly intended for the project.
On Thursday night, he debuted the fourth installment of his “Iceman” livestream series just hours before the album was slated to drop. But at the end of the stream, he revealed that “Iceman” would be accompanied by “Maid of Honour” and “Habibti” on streaming services as the clock struck midnight.
In Variety‘s review of “Iceman,” writer Peter A. Berry commended the album for being a fun yet vindictive comeback that Drake needed. “Theatrical, nakedly transparent and relentlessly vindictive, ‘Iceman’ is anything but icy — and that’s part of why it’s better than Drake’s later career output,” he wrote. “The tales of supposed betrayal carry a genuine emotional weight that feels far removed from the faux introspection and sad rich guy moaning of his last three solo albums. Here, there’s a direct bloodthirstiness that can only surface when you’re facing real enemies instead of imaginary ones.”
