‘Messy’ Artist Lola Young Gets Stamp Of Approval From Legendary ’70s Rocker originally appeared on Parade.

Imagine being an up and coming artist today and getting a bonafide rock icon to endorse your sound? That’s the reality for artist Lola Young, who made waves on TikTok with her single “Messy,” in 2024. The two were chatting on John’s hit Apple show Elton John’s Rocket Hour, and were discussing her new hit “Dealer.”

That’s when the icon gave her the highest compliment.

“I’d bet my house that is a number one single,” Elton told the blushing artist. “It’s unbelievable. It’s the biggest smash I’ve heard in years. I just can’t tell you how proud of you I am.”

He went on to ensure her that she would have the “best” career because she can sing live, perform and is a total package kind of artist. The words nearly moved the artist to tears.

Fans of both artists were enamored with the interaction.

“I love how much he supports all these new artists. He is so encouraging he has been like this for decades,” wrote one fan.

“Love Lola , did not realize just how much Elton inspires and guides talented young upcoming stars,” added another

“Imagine an Icon like Elton betting his house. How wonderful and beautiful someone like him sees her talent and took time out to see her,” noted another.

This is the exact kind of support new artists need, and it’s so refreshing to see industry players lifting each other up instead of tearing each other down.
