The Fine Art Museum of Sedona located 2081 SR89A at invites locals and visitors to celebrate our FAMoS One Year Anniversary and experience its newest exhibition, “Retro-Spectacle… A Visual Journey,” a captivating showcase of works by acclaimed Sedona artist and designer, Taylor Hellmann.

As part of the renowned First Friday in the Galleries event, FAMoS will host a dual celebration on Friday, Oct. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. Please join us and meet local Sedona artist Taylor Hellmann and gain insight into his creative process — and to celebrate the museum’s one-year anniversary! The evening will be a festive affair with balloons, drinks, and art. Truly a unique opportunity for all art enthusiasts to celebrate this milestone with the FAMoS community.

“Retro-Spectacle… A Visual Journey” is more than a retrospective; it is a multi-faceted exploration of Hellmann’s creative evolution. Inspired by his background in fashion design, Hellmann’s earlier two-dimensional works from the 1980s evolved into intricate dioramas. In the 1990s, his art became distinctly three-dimensional, capturing a stylized view of ordinary events. The collection transports the viewer through a variety of media and designs, including textiles, jewelry, dolls, clocks, and ceramics. This collection reimagines the past through bold colors, layered textures, and dreamlike visions — and now with Augmented Reality. Experience art in an entirely new way.

FAMoS is dedicated to highlighting the diversity of art inspired by Sedona and the Verde Valley, offering guests an in-depth education on art and the fascinating artists who have called this area home. The museum also features a multimedia room with continuous oral history videos about local artists and the museum’s mission.

The Helllmann exhibition runs now through Now through Sunday, Nov. 30.
